From June 10 to 13, 2025, Shanghai DS Information Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "DS") participated in the NG eCall Integration Test event jointly hosted by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) and Deutsche Telekom (DT) in Bonn, Germany. As the only Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) participant from China, DS took part in 13 intensive rounds of testing (covering 177 test cases) over four days. The company’s Converged Communication System 300S successfully passed the integration verification tests with automotive manufacturers such as Volkswagen, BMW, Audi, and Porsche, as well as on-board device suppliers including Continental and Kontron, and received the certification certificate issued by the organizers.

eCall (Emergency Call) is an in-vehicle emergency call system—an automatic emergency rescue technology integrated into vehicles. When a vehicle accident occurs, the eCall system can be activated automatically or manually to send a call to emergency services, providing key information such as the vehicle’s exact location, accident time, and driving direction. It aims to promptly notify rescuers when an accident happens, improve emergency response efficiency, and reduce casualties caused by accidents. Currently, the eCall system has become a global industry standard and been widely applied and promoted in many countries and regions. On April 25, 2025, China officially released the mandatory national standard for eCall systems—On-board Accident Emergency Call System (AECS), which is scheduled to take effect on July 1, 2027.

As a leading enterprise in the emergency command field, DS proactively responds to market demands and invests in pre-research on eCall technology. With strong support from the company’s leadership, the Overseas Emergency Business Unit, together with the R&D team and IT team, made early plans and continuous explorations. After over three months of unremitting efforts, DS finally passed the test and obtained the certificate.

The successful passing of this test marks that DS’s Converged Communication Platform 300S—with fully independent intellectual property rights—has acquired the capability to connect with operators and eCall suppliers in the EU region. This lays a solid foundation for the company’s subsequent project expansion in the EU!
